Zhenzhou Attorney Witnessed the Pleading Procedure for Foreign Suspect
On April 13th, 2020, Mr. Gu Baiming witnessed the pleading procedure for a suspect from Myanmar. The proceeding was presided by prosecutors from Zhoushan Municipal People's Procuratorate.
Aung, a Myanmar citizen, was charged with intentional infliction of injury. Mr. Gu Baiming was assigned as a legal aid attorney for the suspect. After carefully reviewing the case and examining the evidence, Gu verified the facts and explained the laws the accused. Aung admitted to the charges and voluntarily took the plead agreement with the prosecutors.
Because of the epidemic, the pleading procedure was carried out via online video conference technology in Zhoushan Municipal People's Procuratorate. The suspect signed the pleading affidavit witnessed by attorneys and prosecutors. Cao Shi, Zhenzhou trainee, was also present at the procedure as a translator.
